In response, Roy Jones Jr. planted only 16% of his 236 attempts with 28 power strikes and 9 jabs. These numbers clearly favored Tyson to be the winner. But the judges saw it differently.

Three judges scored the contest 79-73 (in favor of Tyson), 80-76 (in favor of Jones Jr.), and 76-76 (draw) to end the bout as a draw. However, it was a win-win situation for both men.

Per reports, the fight did almost $1.6 million PPV buys and generated more than $80 million in revenue. The PPV price was set at $49.49. Tyson claimed that he would donate his entire purse to a charity. And the amount was way too massive. Several reports cite different numbers regarding the purses for the fighters.

Per USA Today, Tyson and Jones Jr. were guaranteed $1 million each per the CSAC documents. However, a Kevin Iole tweet claimed that Tyson made $10 million for Mike Tyson and ‘Superman’ Jones Jr made $1-$3 million.

As for now, Jones Jr. hasn’t intended to return again; Mike Tyson will potentially face Logan Paul in 2022.
