Mickie James dethroned Deonna Purrazzo at Bound For Glory to become IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion.

The all-round wrestling legend – who has now won 10 women’s titles across IMPACT/TNA and WWE – provided the upset of the night as she beat the Virtuosa for the gold in a blockbuster match on the company’s biggest show of the year.

After a fantastic bout between two of the best of their respective generations, the veteran earned a huge win with the Mickie-DT to capture the gold eight years after she last held the title, and over a decade since her first reign.

She took to Twitter after the match to celebrate her victory, as she wrote: ‘Manifested #10x thank you @IMPACTWRESTLING & thank you @DeonnaPurrazzo for bringing me back to my roots & the match of my life. #HardcoreCountry’

It’s been a fantastic year for Mickie, who was behind the NWA’s all-women’s pay-per-view EmPowerrr, and beat Kylie Rae the following night at NWA 73.

Now, months after returning at Slammiversary, she finds herself at the top of the IMPACT Wrestling mountain once again.

The night started as The IInspiration stars Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay – formerly WWE’s IIconics as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay – beat the Decay for the Knockouts Tag Team Titles.

Meanwhile, Trey Miguel overcame Steve Maclin and El Phantasmo to win the the X-Division Championship.

Rhino returned to reunite with Heath as they overcame Violent By Design’s Deaner and Joe Doering, and Moose won the Call Your Shot Gauntlet in a match featuring the likes of NJPW’s Rocky Romero, WWE legend and current NWA star Melina Perez, The KISS Demon, and runner-up Matt Cardona.

The Good Brothers held onto the IMPACT World Tag Team Titles despite the best efforts of FinJuice and Bullet Club, while the main event provided plenty of drama to ensure fans were talking after the show went off the air.

Josh Alexander – who has overcome two neck injuries, being let go from his day job recently and more to get to this moment – beat Christian Cage to win the IMPACT Wrestling World Title.

However, his celebrations with his wife and son went sour when Moose came out to cash in his championship opportunity and steal the gold.
