Chrissy Teigen has revealed one of the ways her family continues to keep the memory of her late son Jack alive, one year after her miscarriage.
The model and her husband John Legend were devastated last September when Chrissy’s pregnancy ended at 20 weeks.
As the family continue to cope with the grief of their loss, the Lip Sync Battle star explained why they chose to carry the ashes of her third child with them when travelling.
Speaking to parenting site, Scary Mommy about the practice, Chrissy explained that her daughter Luna, five and three-year-old son like to be involved in looking after Baby Jack.
She stated: ‘Whether we go on a vacation or something, they always say, “Don’t forget baby Jack.” And then I have to pack him up.
‘And then we get to where we’re going, they’re like, “Oh my gosh, he must be thirsty.” This might sound crazy to people, but they’ll put a little glass of water next to his little box of ashes. And they really love being a part of it.’

The Cravings cookbook author explained that having Jack’s ashes around helped her young children to understand that their younger brother ‘didn’t make it’.
She continued: ‘It was something for them to be able to put a story to, where we could say, “Okay, Jack is in here and he is going to stay with us. And maybe one day we might release him.”‘
Her candid revelation comes weeks after the family held a memorial service for Jack on the anniversary of the media personality’s miscarraige.
Chrissy shared pictures from the memorial, which appeared to be a Buddhist ceremony attended by four monks.
Gold tables, flowers and lanterns sat atop a large table, while Chrissy, John, their children and Chrissy’s mother Vilailuck, or Pepper Thai, were all dressed in black.

In one picture, John, 42, bowed his head and held his hands together in prayer.
Chrissy captioned the pictures: ‘Took me a year but finally honoUred his little spirit with some blessings today. hopefully some closure in my heart will happen now 😩 thank you guys for the kind words. It’s a process. Xx’
Earlier in the week, Chrissy had honored ‘the son we almost had’ on National Son’s Day, sharing a picture from the hospital a year ago to Instagram.

On October 1 2020, Chrissy confirmed the news that she had suffered a pregnancy loss, less than two months after she announced via John’s music video for Wild that she was expecting.
Chrissy and John had conceived Jack naturally, having gone through IVF treatment to welcome Luna and Miles.
Both stars have since got tattoos of Jack’s name.
