Katie Price has recalled Harvey’s viral moment on Loose Women, which left her ‘mortified’, and the response including cricketer Ben Stokes’ imitation of him.

In 2016 Harvey – who is visually impaired, has Prader-Willi syndrome and autism – appeared alongside his mum to share his experience with online trolls, amid Katie’s push to bring Harvey’s Law into action.

His response when asked what he says to online trolls, in which he dropped the C-word, went viral, and now Katie has recalled the lead-up and fall-out from the moment, which involved sports star Stokes landing in hot water after a clip emerged of him ‘mocking’ the teen.

In an excerpt of her book, Harvey and Me, obtained by Mirror, Katie wrote: ‘We’re campaigning for Harvey’s Law, so trolls can be prosecuted, and, in 2016, went on Loose Women to discuss it. Backstage, I said: “Harvey, no swearing today please”.

‘”Yes, Mummy,” he replied.

‘But on air, it was a different story. I asked him, “Harvey, if someone says something horrible. What do you say?”. His response was, “Hello, you c***”. I was mortified! Some might argue that his reply was pretty accurate. But I felt so bad that he had dropped the C-bomb on live television.’

Katie went on to call out Stokes, who later said he’d written to the star and her son to apologise.

She wrote: ‘Yet cricketer Ben Stokes then publicly mocks Harvey’s TV appearance in a Snapchat video. He’s a dad himself so should know better. He’s recently gone through his own mental health struggles, which is sad, but he caused us a lot of hurt too.’

Stokes previously apologised for the clip, after he was branded ‘disgusting’ by Katie.

He said: ‘Earlier this year I was shown a clip of Harvey being asked on Loose Women how he responds to internet trolls.

‘I loved Harvey’s directness with his response – he said what most of us think but perhaps aren’t brave enough to say, let alone on live TV.’

‘I foolishly attempted to copy the clip,’ he tweeted. ‘I should never have done this and I am so sorry.’

Stokes added: ‘It was absolutely not my intention to offend Harvey, Katie or anybody else.

‘I have written to both Harvey and Katie to say sorry and prior to this offered to meet in person at the end of last month with a view to also getting behind their petition about online bullying. I do hope I can put this right.’

Katie has been working hard for Harvey’s Law to make it illegal for people to troll others online, with a petition discussed in the House of Commons earlier this year after it gained over 168,000 signatures.

The reality star wants to make it a legal requirement for people to provide a verified form of ID to open a social media account after her son Harvey was targeted with abuse.

Katie hopes that bringing in the changes would mean those sending abusive messages would be traceable and be able to be held to account.
