Rolly Romero Envisions Becoming Biggest PPV Star in Boxing, Admits He Can’t Top Boxers Like Jake Paul
Rolly Romero and Gervonta Davis are now on track to fight on December 5 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. This fight is now even beginning to capture the attention of a lot of non-boxing fans as well.
A huge factor behind this could be Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero’s social media activity. He has been on a mocking streak on his online feed. ‘Tank’ has called him a “clown” for talking trash and creating videos; however, it has certainly managed to attract some fresh eyes to this fight.
‘The Schmo’ recently interviewed the 26-year-old. Romero explained why Gervonta Davis gets to do big promotional features, even though they are both signed to Mayweather Promotions.
He explained that the promotion started using ‘Tank’ as an asset when he had racked up close to 16 wins with no losses. ‘Rolly’ added that he’s had lesser fights than his opponent. He believes that it all ultimately comes down to patience. Even though he is not quite there yet, Romero is confident that he will become the biggest PPV star in boxing.
However, he does not think he can top the likes of Jake Paul and Logan Paul. Romero might be right because the Paul brothers are entertainers first and ‘boxers’ second.
“You gotta realize this, when did they start doing that with Tank? They started doing that with him when he was 14,15-0 or 16-0, like me, I’m like, I realized I have way less fights than him, so I mean, it’s all patience with it. So imma become a pay-per-view star before, with the exception of YouTube boxers right now, I’ll become a pay-per-view star before all other boxers,” said Rolly Romero.
A win over Gervonta Davis could take Rolly Romero a step closer to his goal
Rolando Romero claims that he has been chasing Gervonta Davis since 2017. Now that he finally has him locked in, he will look to prove a point to the world and to the rest of the division.

Based on what he’s said to the camera up to this point, he is confident in his abilities. It seems like he just knows that his size and reach advantage will help him bag a win over Floyd Mayweather’s protege.
“The best thing about Tank is that he is a puncher, I’m a bigger puncher and I’m a bigger person, what the f**k does he have? He gets tired!
” I punch way harder than him, ask anyone that knows us both, they’ll tell you straight up. December 5th. Man, Imma knock him the f**k out. One round. He’s gonna run right into something because he’s stupid,” said Romero.
Gervonta Davis fans know that he knows how to counter the size and reach advantage; however, he has struggled in the past against taller opponents like Mario Barrios.
Defeating Davis could help him inch closer to his goal of becoming a PPV star. A win over an undefeated champion like ‘Tank’ could either make or break his ‘bad boy’ image in the community.
