Daniel Ricciardo Roasts George Russell Back Amid Their US GP Outfit Exchange

Daniel Ricciardo really did have the time of his life at the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, this weekend. The Aussie driver put on a superb performance on the track by outperforming his teammate Lando Norris throughout the weekend. He also enjoyed and made the most of his time off the track in Austin.

He turned up to the Thursday media day in a head-to-toe cowboy outfit. For the outfit, he got trolled by Williams driver George Russell. But Ricciardo got one back on the young Brit when he trolled him back for his hat.

The McLaren driver started the race in P6 but gained a position after the end of lap 1 by passing Sainz. He finished the race in P5, keeping both Bottas and Carlos behind the whole race.

“The first lap was a lot of fun. I got Carlos, I think, on the start, then he got me back with a good move outside of (turn) six into seven. And then I got him back on Turn 17, I think, on the inside.

“So it was three kinds of changes in position on the first lap (which) was cool, but that was crucial for me to get a top-five today,” said Daniel, as quoted by Fox Sports.

“Charles (Leclerc) showed that Ferrari were quicker, we couldn’t match that pace today. So obviously that’s something we’ve got to still try to find. But to beat one of them is quite rewarding.

“And (Sainz) put on a good attack later on in the race as well and we obviously went side-by-side, and a little bit of banging wheels. So it was very fun and very needed to hold on for everything I could,” concluded Ricciardo.
