Eamonn Holmes reveals he’s caught Covid despite being double jabbed and is forced to isolate at home

EAMONN Holmes has revealed he’s got Covid and is isolating at home – despite being double jabbed.

The presenter announced the news on social media but assured fans he was ‘coping well’.

Eamonn, 61, wrote on Twitter: “Covid finally caught me.

“Thankfully I’m Double jabbed. More than Half way through my isolation and coping with the symptoms and effects well.

“Unfortunately I’m going to be a No Show for some Professional & Personal events. Just want to let everyone know why & offer my apologies”.

Eamonn is married to fellow This Morning co-presenter Ruth Langsford, 61.

The couple have both spoken about the benefits of getting the vaccine, which cannot stop you from getting Covid, but can mean the symptoms are less severe.

Speaking on the ITV show in July, Eamonn said: “I know people who have been double jabbed and they have Covid and they were saying to me, ‘You would not want to get this’ so double jab is not going to prevent this happening.”

As Ruth clarified: “Not 100%, but it provides protection and it hopefully stops you getting very ill with it or dying, but it doesn’t stop you getting it or spreading it actually.”
