In Pictures: Seven Boeing 747 Jets Carry 50-Tons Worth of F1 for Mexican Grand Prix Including Red Bull

The American continent officially made its return to F1 last weekend after a year of absence due to the never-ending pandemic. Now, following an exhilarating United States Grand Prix, the next race weekend is due in less than two weeks, this time in Mexico.

The exciting Hermanos Rodriguez circuit will be hosting the Mexican Grand Prix between November 05 and November 07, and the preparations are already underway.

The Twitter handle of the Mexican Grand Prix affirmed that the parts required to carry out the race weekend finally arrived at the Mexico City airport through seven Boeing 747 jumbo jets.

Apparently, around 130 personnel are in charge of transporting the 50-ton worth of goods from the airport to the circuit; the goods consist of the pit-stop and transmission equipment, and possibly other track equipment like bollards and kerbs.

Hence, it is likely that the track-work should come to an end by as early as the upcoming weekend, subsequently letting the teams bring in their trucks on Monday.

What to expect from the F1 Grand Prix of Mexico?

There’s absolutely no point in underplaying the expectations over the upcoming race weekend in Mexico, especially after witnessing what has been one of the intense seasons of the hybrid era.

Countries that had hardly produced exciting races in the past, like Le Castellet, Hungary, Barcelona, Sochi, and Austin, managed to deliver nail-biting events this time around. It has been a highly unusual season, with each race writing its own script.

And on top of that, the Lewis Hamilton-Max Verstappen rivalry has only further glorified this season with bigger thrills. Hence, there is no denying that Mexico could very well add up to this list. But, that’s not it! With Mexico being Sergio Perez‘s home, the second Red Bull driver will look to take his shot at the two title contenders.

And his pace was quite evident around COTA last weekend; He certainly has made a giant leap in terms of setting his car up to his strengths. Hence, the time is perfect for the Mexican to finally secure the long-yearned win in front of his home fans.

But, will Verstappen or Hamilton, who share an equal number of wins around Hermano Rodriguez, deny the home hero a race victory?
