Serena Williams’ Physio Who Is Battling With Cancer Opens Up on Her Experience With the Tennis Legend

Not many players have managed to create the impact that Venus and Serena Williams have done so. These two supremely gifted athletes have dominated the scenes and have changed the way tennis used to be played.

Their physical therapist Dr. Esther Lee reflected on her time with Venus and Serena Williams. She initially began working with the 23-time Grand Slam champion but eventually took a role with sister Venus as well. She reflected on the amount of time spent with them, traveling the globe, accompanying them to the various tournaments being played.

Ester spoke on this subject and stated, “I met Serena Williams and she was my patient. After training, she had some difficulty and pain. She won that year and I was like, ‘Woah!’

“Eventually, I started working with Venus and Serena. It was an amazing experience of six years, traveling with them all around the world. I’m very fortunate to have such a variety of experiences because of my career, that not a lot of people can experience in their lifetimes.”

Working with Serena Williams is an experience of a lifetime

Lee has been spotted with Serena Williams on a number of instances. She only had good things to say about the William sisters and was grateful for the time she spent with these two players. She even went further and termed it as an experience of a lifetime.

Coming to tennis, Serena was last seen in London at the Wimbledon Championships. She suffered from an ankle injury in the opening stages of the match. She has not been featured on Tour since then. We hope to see her recover soon and compete for the biggest prizes in the game.

On the other hand, like her sister, Venus too skipped the US Open. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see what her next move will be. We wish her the best of luck in all endeavors.
