Top Gear trailer packs a punch with car flying through ring of fire and Freddie Flintoff zorbing in stunt-heavy new series

The first look trailer of the brand new series of Top Gear has arrived and it’s packed full of thrilling stunts, including Freddie Flintoff going zorbing.

Presenters Freddie, Chris Harris, and Paddy McGuinness return for another chapter of madness which will see the trio head to the British Grand Prix, go electric caravanning and take an international expedition to Iceland.

The one-minute teaser gives fans a sneak-peek at all the action with Freddie screaming as he prepares to roll down a track inside a giant ball. ‘What’s going on here!’ he shouts.

Elsewhere, viewers see a snippet of a vehicle flying through a ring of fire while motorbikes zoom off a ramp from a height and cartwheel in the air. This really does put the wheel of death to shame.

Of course, the hosts get behind the wheel of some fantastic cars too, including an Aston Martin V8 Vantage F1 Edition, Lamborghini Huracan, and a Rolls Royce Dawn.

Freddie recently told Metro.co.uk that he usually keeps his wife Rachael in the dark about his stunts.

‘My missus isn’t too happy about some of them so I don’t tend to tell her,’ he said.

‘She only finds out when it’s on TV so when I was perched off the edge of a dam in a Rover Metro, waiting to be dropped off on a bungee, it was a bit awkward.’

The legendary Eddie Kidd also stars (Picture: BBC)

Making an appearance on tonight’s episode of The One Show, Freddie spoke fondly of his close relationship with Paddy and Chris.

‘The more time we spent together, we’re all getting closer,’ he said. ‘We know what makes each other tick and we know what pushes each other’s buttons.’

The new series will be coming to BBC One in November.
