“Wha Gwaan A United??”-Jamaican Star Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce Trolls Manchester United for Loss Against Liverpool

Manchester United suffered a terrible loss to Liverpool on October 24th, 2021, leaving all United fans heartbroken. Amongst some of the saddest is Olympic legend, Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, who expressed her disappointment on social media.

Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce is one of the most iconic sprinters in the sport. Making Jamaica proud in the Summer Games held in Tokyo, she claimed gold as well as silver in 4x100m relay and 100m, respectively. In fact, after her incredible feats in Tokyo, the Jamaican did not stop.

She secured the topmost position on the podium at the Diamond League, clocking an amazing timing of 10.60 seconds. With this, she outperformed her fellow Jamaican, Elaine Thompson-Herah, the 100m Olympic gold medalist from Tokyo.

Every Manchester United fan hoped for its side to beat their arch-rivals on home turf. Likewise, the Jamaican too anticipated a win. Unfortunately, the mismanaged play of the Red Devils did not lead to a successful result.

Reacting to the same, the 34-YO sprinter posted two Tweets. Sharing her dismay with the audience, she funnily cracked a salad/salah homophon-y joke.

Watching their favorite team suffer such a humongous setback was definitely difficult for every fan to digest. Clearly, Shelly-Ann felt horrible about the same.

Fans upset about Manchester United

Liverpool demolished United with a score of 5-0. Starting the match on a high note, Naby Keïta scored the first score in the 5th minute. There was still a hope that United will react to that and equalize, but only the opposite happened. With Mohamed Salah scoring a hat-trick at Old Trafford, fans lost hope way before the final whistle.

It was the first time in the history of the Premier League that United was down 4-0 in the first 45 minutes. Only when United’s luck could not have gotten worsened, Cristiano Ronaldo‘s only attempt to score was overruled by VAR. Adding to their misery, Paul Pogba was sent off with a red card for a poor challenge on Keita.

Like Shelly-Ann, every United fan will surely take time to recover from that loss. However, with much of the season yet to play out, Shelly can keep her hopes up of a title incoming.
