Dani Dyer has said she will ‘always have a relationship’ with ex-boyfriend Sammy Kimmence for the sake of their son, despite his jail stint.
Kimmence, 25, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison in July after pleading guilty to scamming two pensioners out of £34,000.
He shares 10-month-old son Santiago with former Love Island star Dani.
Over the past four months, Dani has maintained a wall of silence regarding Kimmence’s legal problems but has now addressed the situation for the first time.
Speaking with her father and EastEnders actor Danny Dyer on their Sorted with the Dyers podcast, the reality star said: ‘You are never really friends with your ex-boyfriend. It’s a little bit different in my situation.
‘Obviously, I will always have a relationship with Santi’s dad, it’s very different when you have children. You’re tied together by blood and you’re always going to have a relationship there. But there’s still a line.

‘Why would you want to be friends with an ex? You want to move on with your life. You split up for a reason.
‘I feel like if you’ve split up with someone just leave it.’
Dani, 25, went on to explain how she feels it’s unnecessary to be friends with an ex ‘unless you have a child’.
‘You don’t need to have that connection,’ she said.
The TV star continued: ‘I just feel that when you’re in a relationship with someone you have so many obstacles, you don’t want to be worrying about an ex partner.

‘The next relationship I’m in, there will be no ex lingering around. She can go. There will be none of that.’
Dani ended her relationship with Kimmence following his sentencing and is raising Santiago as a single mum.
Her father Danny recently defended his daughter and hit out at Kimmence as well as other exes, saying his daughter deserved to ‘be worshipped’.

‘Ultimately, all we want for our children is someone they fall in love with that worships the f***ing ground they walk on. That’s it,’ he said.
‘Whether it’s the same sex or not, there are many t**ts out there, as I have learnt, especially with you Dani. Well, only with you.’
He added: ‘I’ve not agreed with some of your [boyfriend] choices, but then it’s not my choice, it is your choice,’ the unimpressed actor went on to say.’
