Another Win for Xbox as Reports Suggest Studio Behind Critically Acclaimed Franchise is Working on an Exclusive

Xbox is actively making new strides to attract players by acquiring new studios and has also strengthened its existing lineup of studios. Earlier this year, Xbox added Zenimax, which gave the company control of all the IPs made by the studio.

The company has a fair few exclusive games lined up for this year and beyond and Xbox is not looking to stop. According to Jez Corden of Windows Central, a new Xbox exclusive is in the works and is codenamed Belfry.

Xbox owned studio is working on a new exclusive

New claims suggest that the studio that developed the critically praised The Banner Saga is now working on a brand new exclusive. The story comes via Jez Corden of Windows Central, who, during a podcast, said that he knows about an Xbox exclusive title in the works with the codename Belfry. However, he wasn’t sure about any specific details about the game.

Further details about the new exclusive come from journalist Jeff Grubb. Grubb claimed that the alleged title is in development at Stoic Studio. This is the same team that created The Banner Saga trilogy.

Jeff revealed some interesting things that players might see in the game. He said that the game would have a hand-painted design and animation similar to the Banner Saga games. The upcoming “Project Belfry” will be a 2D side-scrolling action game.

However, neither Xbox nor the studio has acknowledged that such a project is in progress. It will be interesting to see when the announcement happens and what things might be exhibited to the players. Xbox has been slowly making big moves towards and this might be one of them. Halo Infinite is one of the big exclusive launches that will happen later this year in December.
