Casper Ruud Reaches Incredible Landmark Ahead of Novak Djokovic in 2021 Season

Every year, a few tennis players rise to their potential and make a breakthrough in the sport. In the 2021 season, Casper Ruud has inarguably earned that recognition. He not only debuted in the Top 10 this year but has also claimed five ATP titles. And now, the 22-year-old has recorded his 50th ATP match win of the season, six more than the World No.1 Novak Djokovic. An incredible feat, indeed.

For starters, Djokovic has had an incomparable year with a 27-1 Grand Slam record and a 44-6 win-loss ratio so far. But comparatively, Ruud has attained more titles and more match wins than the Serbian ace. Accordingly, the Norwegian star is also close to booking a spot in the season-ending ATP Finals for the first time.

Unquestionably, it is one of those extraordinary landmarks that are great to have but most challenging to reach. But considering Ruud’s discipline and determination to win, the breakthrough was only a matter of time.

On the other side, Novak Djokovic has recorded a 44-6 win-loss record in the 2021 season so far. And for this, he competed in merely nine tournaments.

Additionally, the 34-year-old has lifted four titles this year, including three Grand Slams: Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon. Indeed, one of the best seasons of his entire career.
