Do you know your Bowtruckles from your Blast-Ended Skrewts? Your Ancient Runes from your Charms? Your Butterbeer from your Firewhisky? If so, then the upcoming Harry Potter trivia competition being hosted by Dame Helen Mirren will be right up your street.
Dame Helen, one of the only esteemed British actors not to be cast in the fantasy film series, is taking on presenting duties for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses, a competition that will see the four Houses of Hogwarts go head to head in a battle of knowledge.
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Philosopher’s Stone’s premiere – which came out in 2001 – the Oscar winner will oversee the four-day event, which will premiere on a weekly basis from the end of November.
While Dame Helen may not have appeared in the films herself, she will be joined by several of the franchise’s stars, including Tom Felton, who played the cunning Draco Malfoy, Shirley Henderson, who portrayed the squealing Moaning Myrtle, and Luke Youngblood, who depicted the charismatic Lee Jordan.
‘This is the night you’ve been waiting for. I’m Helen Mirren, and I have the absolute pleasure of being your host for this rather magical event,’ she says in the trailer for the special, standing behind the podium in the Great Hall where Albus Dumbledore would address his students.
At one point in the trailer, Dame Helen turns to one of the members of team Gryffindor, asking her: ‘Sophia, how Gryffindor are you?’

‘I’m pretty sure I’m as Gryffindor as you get,’ Sophia replies while wearing the iconic shades of red and yellow of the Hogwarts House.
‘You think you know everything about the wizarding world? Then boy, do I have a challenge for you,’ Dame Helen teases at the end of the clip.

In addition to some familiar faces from the Harry Potter movies, the trivia competition will also feature some individuals from outside the Wizarding World, including SNL comedian Pete Davidson and US TV host Jay Leno.
So will Ravenclaw prove they are as intelligent as they claim by winning the prize at the end of the competition? Or will Gryffindor, Hufflepuff or Slytherin beat them to the top spot?

Earlier this month, an installation was set up in London to celebrate the film franchise’s 20th anniversary, as fans were treated to wand training from the wand choreographer who worked on the movies.
The first film in the series came out four years after Philosopher’s Stone was published in 1997, with the final book in the series, Deathly Hallows, coming out a decade later.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses premieres on Sunday November 28 on TBS and on Cartoon Network.
