Olivia Colman and David Thewlis star as married couple under suspicion of murder in new drama Landscapers
Olivia Colman and David Thewlis star as the married couple under investigation in the epic new trailer for drama Landscapers.
The upcoming Sky drama, which is inspired by true events, tells the story of the couple who become the focus of an extraordinary investigation when a couple of dead bodies are discovered in the back garden of a house in Nottingham.
In the trailer, the pair are seen saying an emotional goodbye to each other before they’re met at the train station by a unit of police officers.
‘Yesterday morning, two bodies were found buried in the back garden of a house in Mansfield,’ we’re told in a court scene, before Olivia’s character Susan is shown grappling with her lawyer’s advice while being questioned.
‘No need to make anything up,’ David’s character Chris says. ‘Just tell them the truth’.
However, it seems that doesn’t quite go to plan as Susan says: ‘He’s doing one thing and I’m doing another, and we’re not together,’ while Chris shouts down the phone: ‘How can you be so stupid?!’

As Susan is seen screaming and holding a gun, and Chris urges her: ‘Just tell them the truth’, it seems there’s more to the story than meets the eye.
The drama is based on the true events surrounding Patricia and William Wycherley’s murders.
The couple were killed in 1998 by their daughter Susan Edwards and her partner Chris and then buried in their back garden.

The Edwards spent the next 15 years covering up the murder, answering post and maintaining the garden.
At a trial at Nottingham Crown Court in 2014, Susan and Chris were found guilty and sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum term of 25 years.
All episodes of Landscapers will be available on Sky and NOW on December 7.
