“He Is So Stupid”: Diego Schwartzman Pissed Off With Gael Monfils’ Coach at Vienna Open 2021
Argentine tennis player Diego Schwartzman is busy competing in the Vienna Open 2021. After winning his opening round match, he booked a spot in the pre-quarterfinal against French tennis player Gael Monfils. Although the Argentine won the match 7-6(5), 4-6, 6-2, there were many incidents that took place during the match.
During the initial stages of the match between Diego Schwartzman and Gael Monfils, there was a system failure when the machine that replaces the line judges failed. That slowed the momentum of the Argentine player. However, there was an incident between Diego and Gael’s coach Gunter Bresnik that caught attention.
Schwartzman lost his cool as he felt the Frenchman’s coach was trying to nudge him by giving constant stares. That didn’t go well down with the 29-year-old player and he stated, “He is so stupid. He doesn’t stop looking at me.” He even went and confronted him. The following conversation details were, “I have confidence with Bresnik so I asked him why he is clapping me and saying ‘bravo’ to my face. I don’t want a discussion.”
Schwartzman is completely pissed off with Bresnik.

Nonetheless, it was an interesting match between these two talented athletes. As the match began, things were looking good for both the players. In the end, the opening set had to be decided in a tiebreaker which went in the Argentine’s favor.
In the following set, Gael found a way to raise his levels and got the break to claim the set and send the match into the deciding set. However, Diego regained his composure and claimed the set with ease in the end.

It will be an interesting match in the quarterfinals when Schwartzman will take on American player Frances Tiafoe. We wish both players the best of luck and may the better player win the match.
