Rockets’ Jalen Green Responds To A Tough Loss With An Important Life Lesson From Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant was one of the most iconic legends in NBA history to directly join the league after high school. In the 2021 NBA Draft Class, players have followed his footsteps as well. Jalen Green and Jonathan Kuminga are two first-round picks who did not go to college after high school. Rather, they joined the NBA’s Affiliate G League to kick start their basketball careers.
And since even before the NBA Draft, Jalen Green has not hesitated to admit that Kobe inspires him immensely. Previously, he has also revealed that he wants his career path to be compared to Kobe. And now, Kobe’s life principles are like the bible for a player like Green. If he wants his career to be anywhere close to Kobe’s, he needs to live abiding by those principles.
And after a rather disappointing performance against the Utah Jazz, Green took to Twitter to remind his fans that just like Kobe, he isn’t giving up after one upset.

Why did Green say he needs to learn from Kobe?
Green scored only 13 points in a blowout loss for the Houston Rockets to the Utah Jazz. This involved a tough night from beyond the arc. He attempted 8 three-pointers and made none of them. Furthermore, he overall shot 18.8% from the field.

Nevertheless, he knew that even the Mamba has had tough games. But like a Phoenix, Jalen expects himself to rise from the ashes and come back stronger. In Kobe’s career, he missed more shots than any other player in history, 14,481 altogether, over 1,000 above the man in second place, Boston Celtics’ John Havlicek.

Jalen Green beats Kobe Bryant and LeBron James to this NBA Record
Jalen Green has tied a league record that only Michael Jordan has matched before him. Green joined Michael Jordan as the fastest rookie to reach 30 points in a game with his 30 point outburst against the Celtics. It took LeBron James 17 games and Kobe Bryant 90 games to reach their first 30 point games. However, Green did it in only his third game.

Jalen Green is the most athletic player in the NBA Draft Class of 2021. Jalen Green has already etched his place in NBA history with a superb individual performance in a hard-fought loss.
