A new trailer for The Witcher season two has been revealed, and it follows Henry Cavill’s character as he faces what could be ‘the end of days’.
The new episodes of the hit Netflix series see actor Henry play Geralt of Rivia, a demon hunter who goes up against the most terrifying monster yet in the upcoming series.
The fantasy drama is set to return on December 17, and fans will be more excited than ever after the new clip was released.
‘The North and South are at war,’ the voiceover says in the clip. ‘Monsters are roaming when they should be hibernating. Maybe it’s the end of days.’
‘I’ve lived through three supposed end of days,’ Henry’s character replies, adding: ‘It’s all horse sh**’.
‘This continent was meant for no-one,’ he adds. ‘None of us will have any peace until there are no monsters left in the world.’

The clip also hints at the direction of Princess Cirilla (also known as Ciri and played by Freya Allen), who is set to play a bigger role in the new run.
The second instalment of the epic fantasy will see Geralt escort the magically-powered Ciri to safety at his childhood home of Kaer Morhen, thus providing viewers with further insight into his past, when he was transformed into an enhanced weapon.

Earlier this year, Henry teased fans with a cryptic social media post, featuring a photograph showing him holding some sheets of paper while reflected in a mirror.
Filming for season two wasn’t without its challenges. The hit Netflix series – which is based on the book series of the same name – took a while to shoot the forthcoming set of episodes as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and lead star Henry Cavill’s injury, but it was finally done after a year back in the spring.
The Witcher season two arrives on Netflix on December 17. Season one is available to watch on Netflix.
