Twins who played baby Emma in Friends star in terrifying modern classic horror movie in case you didn’t know

You might remember Ross and Rachel’s daughter Emma from Friends as an adorable baby girl, all sweetness and light, the apple of her parents’ eyes.
However, nearly two decades on, it may surprise you to know that the twins who played her in the hit sitcom have gone on to star in one of the most terrifying horror films of the past few years.
While baby Emma was sort of phased out towards the end of Friends’ 10-year run, we’re glad to report that the actresses who portrayed her kept up their acting careers.
Although they’re probably still best known for their time on the small screen as Emma, Noelle and Cali Sheldon, now 19, actually appeared in Jordan Peele’s bone-chilling 2019 horror Us.
With Halloween inching ever closer and all of us flicking through sites looking for the perfect chilling film to watch, we have to recommend watching (or, more likely re-watching) this one.
Not least because with the realisation that Ross and Rachel’s daughter play the film’s murderous twins, it takes on a whole new level of creepy.

Peele’s directorial debut Get Out had critics and the public clamouring for more, and his second film Us was released to similar acclaim.
Boasting a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and 81% on Metacritic, the film tells the monstrous story of one family and their ‘tethered’ twins: feral and murderous beings who look exactly like them and are determined to take their place in the above world.
If you’re one of the few who haven’t yet seen it, we’d recommend watching it straight away, as the next part does contain some spoilers (plus, it’s the perfect film to watch between your fingers on Halloween).
Cali and Noelle play identical twins Becca and Lindsey Tyler, self-absorbed high school girls who are vaguely antagonistic towards the main characters.
Until the real threat comes in, that is.

Their ‘tethered’ twins – also, of course, played by the sisters – brutally slaughter Becca and Lindsey, along with the rest of their family in one of the film’s most famous scenes which you can watch below.
Despite the huge success of Us, and the phenomenal popularity of Friends that persists almost 20 years after the show came to an end, the fact that Emma plays a fairly big role in this modern classic seems to have flown somewhat under the radar.

Although Metro.co.uk reported it at the time, it still seems to be a little-known fact among film fans – though of course handful of Friends superfans are well aware.
As every Friends fan knows, baby Emma was the result of Rachel trying out Joey’s ‘I was backpacking across western Europe’ story on Ross, and, well, it worked.

The character was born in 2002, and on her first birthday in 2003 Chandler made the now-infamous joke ‘Emma, it’s the year 2020. Are you still enjoying your nap?’

Bringing the joke full circle, Noelle famously quipped on New Year’s Day 2020 on Instagram that she had finally woken up ‘from the best nap of all time’!
Speaking of naps, good luck trying to get some shut-eye after watching Us…
