WATCH: Lando Norris Half-Jokingly Reveals His Daniel Ricciardo ‘Dream’

Lando Norris has been having a breakthrough season in the sport taking 4 podiums for McLaren. He mentioned he is living his dream and, in a way, he has grown up watching Daniel Ricciardo race in Formula One.

Ricciardo joined McLaren at the beginning of the 2021 season and partnered Norris to the team’s first win in Monza. They share a very friendly bond off the track while not giving an inch to each other on the track.

Lando also described what it feels like to drive a Formula1 car.”I mean it’s the coolest thing in the world right, getting to drive a Formula One car on more weekends. Being the teammate of Daniel Ricciardo, he was almost in F1 when I was born.

To this, the Aussie replied,” 2011. When were you born?”. Lando said he was 11.

” You were born in 2000?” asked Ricciardo. “99. So I kind of grew up watching Daniel and now that’s my real dream of getting to partner with him,” said Lando.

“I suppose a lot of people are shocked and think ‘Oh, Lando drove badly’. But Daniel is just a good driver. In the first half of the season, it was difficult to keep Ferrari behind us when he was just having to find his pace.”

But it’s nice that he’s here now, then we can support each other even more in the race.” said Lando.

It is good news for McLaren that Ricciardo has stepped up and finally found his footing in the new team. The Aussie had been struggling all year to match Norris in qualifying.
