Activision Confirms Disappointment For Fans as Call Of Duty: Vanguard Will Not Launch With Popular Game Mode

As Call of Duty: Vanguard’s launch is dawning closer, players are more than excited to plunge into its gameplay at launch. However, one disappointing news might spoil the anticipation and hype for this game. Activision and Sledgehammer have confirmed that ranked play for Vanguard’s World War II setting will launch only in 2022 and not with the initial release. There has been no word with regards to when in 2022 but this definitely is sad news for the players awaiting World War Multiplayer.

Ranked play for Call of Duty: Vanguard pushes further to 2022

Players have quite fervently waited for Ranked Play to arrive in both Vanguard and Warzone and it seems to be happening. However, the catch, in this case, is that Ranked Multiplayer won’t be available until 2022. Activision confirmed via a tweet that they will bring this new mode in association with Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch and collaboration with Call of Duty League. The Tweet ended ambiguously with a note “More details will be shared at a later date”.

The ranked multiplayer would be timeline-based and can only be expected post-launch in 2022. This has also sparked conversations about a possible Ranked Play mode for Warzone as well but there has been no confirmation about it from Raven Software’s end. The endnote of the tweet denotes a very vague and ambiguous window for release as players don’t know when exactly to expect the release. This can be explained because a plethora of content is expected to arrive with Vanguard’s Season One and Warzone Pacific. Speculations say that the competitive mode for Vanguard might arrive at the start of the CDL season in February.

While players might have been disappointed by the lack of clarity on the release window, many are in anticipation of improved gameplay and multiplayer experience in ranked playlists.

Besides all of these, Call of Duty: Vanguard is launching on November 5 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
