Emergency services were scrambled to the crash, which involved a Renault Clio, at around 10.15pm yesterday.
It’s claimed a number of people inside the car were members of the armed forces, but the MoD was unable to confirm.
Witnesses, including soldiers from a nearby barracks, are said to have pulled the occupants – wearing Halloween costumes and make-up – from the car.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance was called to the fatal incident and a source said the charity’s specialist medics performed surgery at the roadside.
