Mike Tyson’s Advice to Deontay Wilder Implies the End of ‘The Bronze Bomber’s’ Reign as Champion

Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury went to war on October 9. Even though ‘The Gypsy King’ finished his opponent in round 11, both rivals walked out of the ring as legends. Naturally, with his second consecutive win over Deontay Wilder, the rest of the division is now waiting to get a shot at Tyson Fury for the title.

However, it is uncertain if ‘The Bronze Bomber’ still has the fire in him to get back into the ring. Considering the show of resilience that he put against Fury, he is still an extremely tough competitor in the heavyweight division.

Many still want Deontay Wilder to continue fighting; however, then there is Mike Tyson, who wants him to continue fighting for the money but believes that the Alabama native has no shot at regaining the title.

Keep fighting, make money, stack your money up, and call it a day,” said Tyson about Deontay Wilder.

Mike Tyson recently even shared a message for the current WBC champion, Tyson Fury – “Keep on winning brother, keep on winning. He’s the lineal champion. He’s the man who beat the man. He is heavyweight boxing, period. He is, nobody else. Ask anybody except for [Oleksandr] Usyk, who is the heavyweight champion? And Usyk might even say it’s Fury“.

Deontay Wilder is on Anthony Joshua’s radar

Other than Tyson Fury, one heavyweight that fans have always wanted Deontay Wilder to go up against is Anthony Joshua. While negotiations between the two have never worked out before, it seems Joshua, after losing to Usyk in September, is now willing to fight Wilder after the Usyk rematch.

If the fans can’t see I would take these fights with the fighters like Wilder in a heartbeat. And I want people to know that I would fight anyone in their prime or anytime.

Give me a mandatory and I will fight anyone, I love the game and will fight anyone. I will take on any challenge providing politics aren’t an issue and the finances are there with these guys, people know what I am about.

I think Wilder fought (Tyson) Fury thinking it was going to be easier than his previous fights and got caught in a trilogy web. But would I fight Wilder, yes I would,” Joshua said to IFL TV.

After Joshua’s proposition, Wilder’s team was then asked if they would consider fighting AJ in a mega-heavyweight clash. Manager Shelly Finkel responded by saying they will hunt down big fights and even stated Fury is still not out of the picture. Finkel claimed that they would be willing to fight Joshua, regardless of who wins the AJ-Usyk rematch.

My gut says the big fights. It’s not on the drawing board now, but he would love to get Fury back again. It’s a massive fight [Wilder vs Joshua], no matter what happens in the Joshua – Usyk fight, said Shelly Finkel, Wilder’s co-manager.
