Sebastian Vettel Makes a Shocking Revelation Regarding Infamous Lewis Hamilton Incident at Baku in 2017

Mick Schumacher’s Jenga game with Sebastian Vettel has won over the internet. With an interesting twist of answering questions with every block they pulled, the German duo revealed unknown and interesting aspects about themselves. In Vettel’s case, however, may be a little too revealing.

During the game, Mick asked Vettel what his most memorable birthday was. Having replied that it was his thirtieth, Seb explained why. “Cause I had lots of friends there and we had a good party. I don’t celebrate my birthday normally, but 30th was a special occasion.”

However, Vettel may have had too much fun at the wrong time. The driver shockingly narrated what had happened four years ago. “I got… really in a ‘good mood,’ if you see what I mean,” the champion started cheekily. “And the next day I had the hearing with the FIA in Paris because of the Baku incident; you know, when I drove into Lewis because I was angry.”

Unexpected behavior from the most responsible man on the grid, but everyone has their fun sometimes! The then newly appointed Ross Brawn wouldn’t have had the best experience with a hungover Seb, for sure.

What happened between Sebastian Vettel & Lewis Hamilton in 2017?

The “collision” at Baku was a rare moment of anger for Vettel. Sebastian Vettel was behind Lewis Hamilton under the yellow flag. The problem arose when Hamilton, who was leading the pack, exited the corner, accelerated, and then braked. This caused Vettel’s Ferrari to bump into the rear of the Mercedes.

Vettel, mad at Lewis for stopping suddenly, goes alongside his championship rivals and rammed into him. Vettel walked off with a penalty for dangerous driving, but also ahead of his rival in P4.

While the tensions were high after the race, Vettel later admitted that he had overreacted in the heat of the moment. “I had a very different view inside the car, and with a little bit of a gap, I had a different view outside the car.” The 30th birthday party might have brought around some clarity for Seb!

Regardless, Hamilton and Vettel are known for their rivalry having immense respect. The champions they are, the incident has been long forgotten. Nonetheless, it gave F1 its most memorable moments in Baku.
