Joanne Clifton has revealed that if she decided to return back to Strictly Come Dancing, she would love to partner up with Prince Harry.

The 38-year-old dancer who is currently starring as Morticia in the UK and Ireland tour of The Addams Family took home the glitterball trophy back in 2017 after winning with celebrity partner, Ore Oduba.

Joanne announced shortly after her win that she would be leaving the hit dance show after three years, to progress in her musical theatre career.

However, when asked whether she would return to the dancefloor, Joanne revealed she would love to go back, but only if she can dance with a certain royal.

In an interview with Daily Star, she said: ‘I’ve always said that I’d like to dance with Harry because I’ve always fancied him a little bit, most probably Prince Harry.’

Getting The Duke of Sussex to take part might be a little difficult, so it’s a good thing Joanne included TV presenter Karl Pilkington as a backup.

‘I think he would be absolutely hilarious to work with on it, you would give him a move and tell him the technique and he’d be like but why?’

She added: ‘It would be so funny I think, not in terms of his dancing because he might be amazing but in terms of working with him.’

The dancer recently revealed she can no longer dance like she used to after being diagnosed with osteoarthritis, a common type of arthritis.

Joanne admitted she experienced a lot of aches and pains after lockdown.

She said: ‘Touch wood, I’m not in too much pain for now. When I start touring again with Addams Family, if the stage sometimes isn’t flat, those are the shows when it’s going to hurt and my water bottle will come in very handy.’

Before joining the BBC series, she was crowned world ballroom champion in 2014 and five times British champion.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7.10 pm on BBC One.
