‘Was He Born?’: LeBron James Reacts to Facing Evan Mobley, His Son Bronny James’ Former Opponent

The Los Angeles Lakers took care of the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight to improve to 3-3. LeBron James made his return back into the lineup and was the star of the show. After a sloppy start to the game, the Lakers managed to pull back in and went on to win convincingly. However, many problems also came to surface during this game. But after the game, ‘the ‘King’ had some serious praise for Cleveland’s rookie, Evan Mobley.

The one thing fans have to accept is the Lakers will require time to figure their plans. However, one inexcusable thing tonight was their turnovers. The purple and gold managed to turn the ball over 15 times in just the first half. Both LeBron and Anthony Davis were poor in that regard. However, a second half boost got them through.

Facing a young Cavaliers team. the Lakers started off at a disadvantage. The big reason was their turnovers and also Evan Mobley’s early onslaught of points. But they managed to level things up at halftime. They then took both the remaining quarters and won the game 113-101.

LeBron James sees bright future for Mobley

Defence was a big problem for the Lakers tonight. Apart from the fourth quarter, it looked like the Cavs were scoring at will. Moreover, with a lack of size, the Lakers were struggling to get their defensive rebounds as well. Notably, Even Mobley racked up a career high 23 points along with 2 steals and no turnovers. James was thoroughly impressed with the rookie and had big expectations of him going ahead.

LeBron said: “He’s gonna be a damn good basketball player in this league. It’s so crazy because he was just playing against my son a few years ago.”

This date also marks the day LeBron made his debut in the league. When questioned about what he felt Mobley was doing, James hilariously responded saying, “Was he born?

Being the third pick in the draft, Mobley is living up to it. Taking the starting role, he is contributing in one way or another. While it was in scoring today, rest games, he is always on the board with rebounds and blocks. Playing on both ends of the floor, he has shown early spark, and will only keep developing into his role. Currently, Mobley is averaging 15 points, 8 rebounds in 33 minutes with just a single turnover per game.

LeBron James led the way on his return racking up 26 points, 8 assists, 3 steals and a block. Russell Westbrook was efficient once again and also kept his turnovers in check. He put up 19 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds. Melo played a crucial role off the bench, scoring 24 points with 6 triples. Anthony Davis had a quiet night with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks.
