FANS REACT – Yet Another Daniel Hemric Near Win Results in Many Laughs at Martinvsille

“Just when he thought he was out, the Gods of bad luck pulled him back in!” After Daniel Hemric finished third in Martinsville, his race result became a subject of humour for many Twitter fans.

Even though the result was enough to take him through to Phoenix, the race on Sunday only became another page in a book full of near wins, which is Hemric’s career.

And those on Twitter didn’t miss the opportunity.

Lol as much as I want NG to win the title next weekend.

If somehow Daniel Hemric finishes the highest of the championship 4 but doesn’t win the race. Crowning a champion that’s never won a race would be absolutely comical.

Daniel Hemric is denied his first #NASCAR victory due to circumstances far beyond his control.

The reason for all these tweets is the fact that Hemric’s entire career is filled with such instances. The 30-year-old driver has failed to win a single race in his 119 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

But what’s more fascinating is that he has finished 42 times inside the Top 5, which means he has come close, sometimes agonizingly close.

Time after time again, Hemric has smelled the sweet smell of success but has always fallen short, mostly due to late-race shenanigans, which was again the case in Martinsville.

“It don’t matter”- Daniel Hemric

Although Hemric admitted he’s disappointed, with the result but the team is still focused on the final race in Phoenix.

“Nothing matters right now, right? All we’re doing now is putting all our eggs in one basket this week,” Hemric said.

It don’t matter as long as we have and can conquer the ultimate goal next week.”

But the crew chief, Dave Rogers, thinks it’s unacceptable that the result ended the way it did.

We should’ve won that race. Got moved out of the way”, he said in a post-race interview.

What if?

It would not just be interesting but pretty historic if Daniel Hemric wins the championship without winning a single race before that.

Imagine how incredible it’d be for Daniel Hemric to win his first race at Phoenix on top of winning the Xfinity Series championship.

That’s a documentary.#NASCAR | #NASCARPlayoffs

This might make fans and even those in NASCAR reexamine the format around which the league is centered.

Because NASCAR is built around race wins and if a driver can win the championship without winning a race, then the format itself definitely needs attention and potential alterations.

But no matter how fascinating the potential outcome may be, nobody can deny that it’d be pretty funny if we see Daniel Hemric lift the trophy with his first-ever career win.
