“I Race Everyone Super Hard” – Ryan Blaney on Not Feuding With Many Drivers

Over the past season, a few rivalries have dominated the headlines. Chief among them was the Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick spat, which continued for a while. While there are many drivers who are engaged in fueds often, there are others, who stay as far away from fueds as possible. And Ryan Blaney belongs to the latter category.  He has insisted that he is not the type to hold grudges and carry on feuds.

He said, “I might have had a couple of run-ins, that have been highlighted on a weekend. However, I seem to get past them pretty quick. I don’t know why that is, I’m not really a person who kind of holds grudges.

“Can’t speak for other people, but me and Jimmie [Johnson] had a thing there at the Glen. He and I kind of met the next week and agreed to disagree on some things, but we squashed that, and the same with Harvick. We had a little deal in Martinsville and went to Texas the next week and we’re fine.”

What else did Ryan Blaney say?

The Team Penske driver confessed that he does not have a proper answer about the question. Normally, he tries to stay out of controversial things and just focuses on racing. If Blaney feels that he is to blame, then he tends to reach out and bury the hatchet with the aggrieved rival as soon as possible. On the flip side of the coin, he tries to put himself in his opponents’ shoes, but at the end of the day they agree to disagree.

Ryan Blaney continued, “For me there is no sense in holding big grudges. Once it happens over and over again, then you might think that that person might be out to get you. I race everyone super hard, there’s a difference between racing people hard or doing things that take people off or push the issue too much. You ask anybody, I race everyone the hardest out there. I try not to get into people and things like that.”

However, he admitted that it does not pay to be overly cautious with other drivers. Instead, the attitude is to go and race hard with everyone. Blaney tries not to think about any consequences, but he just races people hard.
