Doctor Who is well and truly back – after series 13 of the beloved sci-fi drama – titled Flux – launched on BBC One.
There’s trouble in store for The Doctor as well as her companions Yaz (Mandip Gill) and newcomer Dan (John Bishop) in the upcoming episodes.
The series begins the end of an era for the show, with Jodie recently announcing her upcoming exit from the programme.
Flux is also Chris Chibnall’s final series as showrunner before Russell T Davies takes over once again.
There’s plenty to come over the coming weeks – but will there be a Christmas special this year?
Here’s everything you need to know.

There is a festive episode coming our way, with a special episode airing over the Christmas period.
The six Flux episodes will be followed by three specials, the first of which will air on New Year’s Day 2022.
It’ll be followed by another instalment in the spring, before Jodie’s final episode airs in autumn 2022.
The feature-length episode will see the Thirteenth Doctor regenerate and be replaced.
With Russell taking back his throne as showrunner, the rumour mill has been in overdrive over who will be Jodie’s replacement.

The likes of Olly Alexander, Richard Ayoade, Michaela Coel and Rhys Ifans are among the names linked with the role.
During a recent interview, Jodie looked back on when she was first announced as The Doctor in 2017, revealing what David, who portrayed the Tenth Doctor, warned her about the role.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com, she said: ‘I was announced in…was I announced in 2017? Yeah. Weirdly, it’s like for me, it’s as if it’s been three years, I’ve done three seasons, but it’s been much longer than that.’
She continued: ‘And actually, it has gone [quickly]. And I remember this was one thing that I really remember David saying to me before, right? Like before I started shooting. He said, “This will go so quickly. It will feel like it goes in a whirlwind”.’
Doctor Who continues on Sunday at 6.15pm on BBC One.
