Are South Western trains running today from Salisbury to London Waterloo?

THE train collision that happened in the Fisherton Tunnel near Sailsbury on Sunday evening has left the railway out of action today.

A carriage was derailed when it hit an object on the line and a second train then crashed into it.

Are SWR trains running between Salisbury and London Waterloo?

The Great Western Rail service from Portsmouth Harbour to Bristol Temple Meads struck a mystery object – causing the rear carriage to derail.

The 17:20 South West Rail service from London Waterloo to Honiton in Devon then sped through the tunnel and crashed into the other train leaving dozens of passengers injured as sparks flew.

In a statement, Great Western Railway (GWR) said the railway in the area would remain closed on Monday as “specialist teams continue their investigations”.

It urged customers not to travel on the affected part of the network, adding the closure would affect SWR trains between Exeter and Basingstoke and GWR trains between Westbury and Portsmouth.

Are rail replacement buses operating?

All trains between Salisbury and London Waterloo have been cancelled.

It is not clear if a rail replacement bus service is in operation for the Salisbury area and for services to London Waterloo.

Passengers may be able to get delay repay compensation
