Chase Elliott Sarcastically Responds to Denny Hamlin’s Insinuating Remark

Denny Hamlin was definitely not happy about how the race turned out in Martinsville. Yet Chase Elliott, who finished ahead of Hamlin, claimed he’ll be losing sleep despite advancing to the Last 4.

In the post-race press conference, a concerned Elliott responded to Denny Hamlin’s comments on his fan club.

But Elliott, who was just as confused and amused as his teammate Martin Truex Jr. and Hamlin’s own teammate Kyle Larson, simply responded as straightly as he could.

“I’m going to lose so much sleep tonight. I might not sleep at all, that’s how concerned I am.”

Hamlin, it seems confused Elliott’s fans to those of Bowman’s.

Alex Bowman, yes, but why Chase Elliott?

Denny Hamlin, who was only 7 laps away from securing his sixth win in Martinsville, got hit by Alex Bowman from the back. This resulted in Hamlin spinning and ultimately finishing 24th after a restart.

An angry Hamlin went ballistic on Bowman at the front stretch and expressed his displeasure.

This led to fans booing Denny Hamlin and drowning out his post-race interview.

To Phoenix

After the Last 4 became clear in Martinsville, the championship battle will be between two historical teams; Hendrick and Gibbs.

Chase Elliott, the defending champion, will try to retain his title from his teammate Martin Truex Jr. But the 25-year-old driver will also battle with the two teammates from Joe Gibbs Racing, this season’s favorite Kyle Larson and the experienced Denny Hamlin.

What’s important for Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott Elliott is to move past the anger and sarcasm and focus entirely on winning in Phoenix, which will either be a first for Hamlin or the second running for Elliott.

Yet, seeing the continuing feuds both drivers have this season, one shouldn’t rule out this confusing, sarcastic drama evolve in the heat of Arizona in next Sunday’s title showdown.
