Gogglebox legend Sandra Martin has made some surprising claims about her time on the programme, saying that the series banned her from appearing on other shows.

Sandra appeared on the first ever episode of the series alongside friend Sandi Bogle and the pair quickly became fan favourites.

She left the series in 2017, but has now opened up about her experiences behind the scenes.

Writing on Twitter, Sandra said that contributors to the Channel 4 series are unable to take part in other series while appearing on Gogglebox.

She explained: ‘After Sandi left I miss her so much.. plus it was a contract show.. you can’t do certain shows like Big Brother if you on Gogglebox… anyway am happy. 5 yearz on sofa was good enough.’

Responding to fans on Twitter, Sandra also answered speculation about a possible return to the series.

‘Apparently when you leave you can’t go back…’ she said, pouring cold water on the idea.

‘But Channel 4 know me and my TV partner go back the ratings will go sky high. But unfortunately Channel 4 likes it like this.’

While it looks like Sandra won’t be returning to Gogglebox any time soon, former Gogglebox star Amy Tapper has suggested the much-loved Tapper family could return to the Channel 4 show as it nears its 10th anniversary.
