Kamaru Usman Says He Will Perform a Systematic Dissection on Colby Covington

The welterweight division is known to be one of the most competitive divisions in the UFC. UFC’s welterweight division has featured many of the most dominant and legendary fighters to ever compete in the UFC. One of these dominant fighters is the current welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman. Ever since he made his way into the UFC the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ has been unstoppable.

Usman has completely crushed everyone he’s ever faced in the octagon. The Nigerian nightmare still remains unbeaten in his UFC career. No fighter has managed to sweat the Nigerian, and he has made his ascension to the top appear effortless. However, Colby “Chaos” Covington really gave the champion a run for his money, the last time both the fighters faced each other.

When they last fought at UFC 245, Kamaru won by technical knockout. The battle was incredibly competitive, and it was undoubtedly one of Usman’s most difficult. The duo will square once again off at the upcoming UFC 268 for the UFC welterweight championship. The UFC’s official YouTube channel recently posted a countdown video for the upcoming UFC event at Madison Square Garden. In the video, champion Kamaru Usman asserted his confidence in his forthcoming rematch with Covington.

He said, “I expect the rematch to be whatever I make it. If feel like I wanna be systematic and dissect him and get him out of there early, I will do that. But if I feel like getting to the scrap, I might do that as well.” The champion is confident that he will be the one in charge of the fight at UFC 268.

Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington 2: Prediction

The last time Colby Covington faced off against Kamaru Usman was about two years ago at UFC 245. Covington really gave Usman a tough time in the octagon and the fight was extremely close. Usman won the fight in the final round following a Technical Knockout. But Covington claims the referee stopped the fight unnecessarily.

Although the first was pretty even the last time they fought, Usman still has the upper hand between the two. Ever since their fight at UFC 245, Usman has defended his title three times, whereas Colby has fought only once. Kamaru seemed very sharp in his title defenses and beat the likes of top contenders like Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns. Owing to his current form and Colby’s inactivity, Kamaru has a slight advantage for the upcoming fight. The fight is more likely to go the distance this time as well because both fighters are close to each other in their ability.
