Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan fears the Queen will stop carrying out her duties completely: ‘I don’t want her to feel she has no purpose’

Coleen Nolan has expressed her worry over Her Majesty after doctors told her to take time off due to health concerns.

During Monday’s episode of Loose Women, the 56-year-old presenter was joined by Jane Moore, Lady Sophie Morgan, and Christine Lampard and discussed her worries about another member of the Royal family taking over her duties.

‘My fear about the Queen resting and stopping is that if she stops, she may stop completely,’ Coleen said.

‘If she sees someone taking over and doing it well, your purpose goes and I don’t want her to feel like that.’

Referring to the death of the Queen’s husband Prince Philip earlier this year, she continued: ‘We have to remember she’s grieving the love of her life, we forget that, it’s so recent.’

While the rest of the panel agreed with Coleen, Jane mentioned who she would like to see take over.

‘Princess Anne is a solid working role, where Harry and Meghan have made it clear they don’t want to do that, so I don’t think their future lies with the monarchy,’ she said.

‘I think Camilla is very good and very hardworking.’

The Queen was pictured driving for the first time since concerns were raised about her health.

Her appearance comes on the day she was due to greet world leaders at COP26 in Glasgow, however, the monarch had to pull out of the reception, and announced she would send a video message instead.

The Queen’s overnight stay at central London’s private King Edward VII’s Hospital last month was her first in eight years.

It was initially kept quiet by Buckingham Palace – but aides were forced to break their silence when The Sun newspaper broke the news.

She has been advised to rest by doctors for a further two weeks but has continued her royal duties from home.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently revealed that the Queen was ‘on very good form’ during their weekly conversation.
