Novak Djokovic Says US Open Final Was ‘Win for His Life’ Despite His Brutal Loss

World No.1 Novak Djokovic recently landed in the French capital for the Rolex Paris Masters 2021. The Serbian ace hasn’t appeared professionally match since the US Open 2021 finals and thus, fans are excited to witness him at the upcoming Masters tournament.

Novak Djokovic didn’t participate at the Rolex Paris Masters last year. However, he emerged as the champion of the tournament in 2019 and has won the most number of Rolex Paris Masters titles to date.

Unfortunately, Djokovic failed to achieve the Calendar Slam after losing to Daniil Medvedev in the final of the US Open 2021. In the pre-tournament press conference of the Rolex Paris Masters 2021, the Serb mentioned that he always takes lessons from his defeats.

“I’ve learned over the years to deal with losses, I treat them as opportunities for growth. USO loss has arrived arguably in the worst, but also the best time. I was blessed to experience the support from the crowd where I usually don’t, it was a win for life,” said Djokovic in the press conference.

Interestingly, Djokovic also talked about the positives after his US Open 2021 loss. He stated that he got a lot of support from the crowd, which made him really happy.

“I need to improve”- Djokovic ahead of the Rolex Paris Masters 2021

In the same press conference, Nole highlighted that the US Open 2021 was a reality check for him. He feels that he got to learn about the areas that he needs to work upon in order to improve his gameplay.

“It was a reality check (USO) to see what I need to improve. Let’s see how emotionally recovered I am, we’ll see, I haven’t played in a while,” added the 20-time Grand Slam champion.

Novak Djokovic has already qualified for the ATP Finals but hasn’t won a Masters 1000 tournament in 2021. Will he be able to conquer Pars this year?
