‘So Soft”: Twitter Reacts as Kevin Durant Gets Ejected for Elbowing Pistons’ Kelly Olynyk

The Brooklyn Nets have been in the limelight of controversy this season. Notably, the situation with Kyrie Irving has some effect on that. However, they still remain as one of the top teams in the NBA. Spearheaded by Kevin Durant and James Harden, their duo is slowly catching up. While Harden is still getting back in rhythm, KD hasn’t missed a beat. However, in the recent game against Detroit, the ‘Slim Reaper’ was ejected in the third quarter.

Unsurprisingly, Durant is always among of the heat of the plays. Verbal altercations aren’t new when it comes to him. Light shoves and heated moments are something KD himself embraces. He uses this to get into the opponent’s head and force them to make mistakes. Similarly, his ejection against the Pistons came up for similar reasons.

Looking at this, fans couldn’t help but put a funny twist on this KD ejection.

Fans react to Kevin Durant getting ejected

KD is not a new face to controversy. However, this time, the fans wanted some part of the action and decided to mock his ejection. While many related it to his tech in the last game, some took a plain funny approach towards the matter.

It seems Kevin Durant is a hub for getting technicals this season. Last game, he launched the ball into the stands and got a technical foul for his actions. This time, during a defensive play, KD was trying to contest a three pointer. However, Kelly Olynyk set a screen to prevent that. Because he couldn’t get to his man, Durant elbowed Olynyk and shoved him to the ground. Likewise, he was ejected for his actions.

Damn can’t even defend the KD in that one… He went high with the elbow…

KD just throwing elbows now man… so soft.

I’m completely fine with Kevin Durant throwing elbows at Kelly Olynyk

— Mozart of the Parquet (@booskutball) November 1, 2021

KD should probably get a suspension for those elbows.

Disagree with the call. KD was trying to make the world a better place by shaving Olynyk’s peach fuzz neck beard with his elbow. https://t.co/b430iVMFau

Is KD frustrated with the Nets? No, just a normal Friday where he gets a tech for throwing the ball into the stands and next game drops a people’s elbow on Olynyk. https://t.co/JfnONeN2yX

Apparently KD hated Kelly Olynyk’s “Disc Golf Player” Halloween costume, and promptly gave him an elbow to the face.

Wassup with KD?? The ball toss into the stands, the elbow tonight. He feeling pressure in BK? Or irritated with his maximum paid teammates???

KD really threw that elbow like that and not gonna get ejected

However, despite going off in the third quarter, the Nets’ star made his impact. He led the Nets in scoring with 23 points shooting 76.9% from the field. This is his second efficient game in a row coming off a 70% shooting night in his last game. After the game, KD justified his actions, saying he was only trying to run through the screen and put his elbow up in the process.
