Dan Levy appeared on This Morning for his first UK TV interview and had a fab surprise from S Club 7’s Rachel Stevens after revealing his love of the group.

The creator and star of the hugely successful sitcom, Schitt’s Creek, joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on the sofa on Tuesday morning.

While discussing the show book made for fans, titled Best Wishes and Warmest Regards, Dan explained just how much he loved British pop culture.

But the presenting pair had a special treat in store for Dan when he explained his love for S Club 7.

Dan explained: ‘S Club was big in Canada where I grew up and my sister got married a couple of weekends ago and there was a photo that was taken from the wedding and it’s the two of us, we look like we’re screaming, but it is to an S Club 7 song.’

The actor went on to explain how his sister Sarah Levy, who also starred in the sitcom, is a huge S Club and Spice Girls fan and played a host of tunes from pop groups at her wedding.

‘There’s only one way we can help out with this and that’s with a message from Rachel [Stevens],’ Phil revealed, to a shocked-looking Dan.

Rachel appeared on the screen and said: ‘Hi Dan, first of all, I just want to say, I’m such a massive fan of you, I love you and I loved Schitt’s Creek.

‘It’s so lovely of me to send you a message of me to say hi, I hope you’re really well sending you lots and lots of love to you and your family.’

‘Sending you the biggest, biggest kiss, lots of love!’ Rachel concluded.

Dan was clearly thrilled with the moment, telling Holly and Phil: ‘That is the full circle moment I came here for, that’s it. I can leave happy!’

The hit series which ended last year is a family affair, with both Dan’s sister Sarah and father Eugene Levy among the leading cast, as well as Catherine O’Hara.

Holly asked the guest why they decided to end the show when they did, after noting: ‘You could have kept going but you chose not to?’

Dan replied: ‘I do think there’s something to be said about quality over quantity. We’re living in a time where there’s so much quantity over quality.

‘The shows I returned to were the ones that left me wanting more. You could see none of us wanted it to end. I wanted it to end on the highest possible note.’

Phil went on to quiz the star: ‘Was there any moment after that where you thought “have we made the wrong choice?”‘

He firmly replied: ‘No. When we shot that last episode, I knew when we were filming it there was something really special in the air.’

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
