The Book of Boba Fett drops first Disney+ trailer – and Star Wars fans are already divided

THE Disney+ series The Book of Boba Fett has unleashed its very first trailer – and Star War fans are already divided.

Years after he was presumed to have died in the Sarlaac Pit on Tatooine, Boba Fett has returned to take over the land once ruled by Jabba the Hutt.

In the action-packed trailer, Boba’s iconic helmet rolls on the sand before he seemingly beheads one of his enemies

In the first trailer for The Book of Boba Fett, Temuera Morrison takes to the role as the iconic bounty hunter, which he reprises from the second season of Disney’s The Mandalorian.

The Season 2 finale featured a post-credit sequence where Fennec killed off the remaining characters in Jabba’s lair, with Boba killing his former right-hand man.

An action-packed two-minute trailer is shown with Boba and Fennec defending themselves, as Boba’s iconic helmet rolls on the sand before he seemingly beheads one of his enemies.

The jaw-dropping reveal begins on Tatooine, where a bizarre bug skittering across the desert landscape, as Boba Fett tells an alien creature that he’s, “not a bounty hunter”.

The alien doesn’t believe him and responds with, “I’ve heard otherwise,” as Fett is seen putting on his iconic helmet.

However, while some are excited about its launch on the streaming platform, others weren’t so keen.

Taking to Twitter, one disgruntled Star Wars fan fumed: “More woke garbage from Disney. Do something new.”

Someone else said: “I haven’t got much faith in this show. He will probably be turned into a nice misunderstood bounty hunter who, in reality, tries to change to the world for the better.”

While another penned: “Disney has done a great job at destroying most of the things I loved about Star Wars, but I do hope I’m wrong here.”

The Book of Boba Fett will be available to stream on Disney+ on Wednesday, December 29.
