WWE Raw results, grades: Big E attacks Kevin Owens after amazing main event

The champ wasn’t happy with KO (Picture: WWE)

Big E didn’t quite trust Kevin Owens after their huge main event on Raw and the WWE Champion laid out his opponent after the match was over.

The non-title clash was set up earlier in the night, when Seth Rollins came out to gloat about his win over Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor and Owens in last week’s huge ladder match.

Big E came down and called him out for refusing to shake his hand, while the Drip King started to make fun of The New Day’s accomplishments, which got the champ riled up before he suggested that they have their match for the gold later that evening.

Rollins played down the idea saying he was still a bit hurt after the ladder match, which brought out KO as he insulted Seth and challenged E – which was quickly accepted.

In an interesting moment, Owens said he would give it his all for as long as he’s on Raw – whether that’s ‘three weeks’ or ‘three years’, which has got people talking amid speculation about his contract.

The main event itself was fantastic, with both stars going all-out in a great first time match-up.

Rollins came out for a closer look, and played into the final stretch when he hit E with a cheap shot, which saw KO then go for a pin which was reversed with a crucifix.

Big E was angry with Owens for going for the pin after Seth’s attack, and the pair rowed on the mic with KO apologising – but he got laid out with a Big Ending.

Liv Morgan steps up to Becky Lynch, Damian Priest and T-Bar go to war and Austin Theory beats Rey Mysterio by DQ

The first match of the night was a barnstormer of a Raw Women’s Championship match between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair.

The two superstars put on a great show for the fans, with the EST of WWE showing off her strength and skill throughout, before The Man stole the win by sending Bianca into the exposed turnbuckle before getting the roll-up with the tights.

Later, Liv Morgan stared down Lynch backstage, suggesting she might be in line as the next challenger.

Austin Theory beat Rey Mysterio by disqualification in a good match which ended when Dominik slapped the former when he was in position for a 619.

It continued the former NXT star’s rise up the card, while keeping the issues between father and son simmering.

After a row backstage which was sparked by Queen Zelina insulting Nikki A.S.H.’s mask, the pair met in tag team action with Carmella and Rhea Ripley as their respective partners.

It was a non-title match, with the villains picking up the win to put themselves in line for a title shot in a threadbare division.

Finn Balor beat Chad Gable in a fantastic sprint as the latter had told Big E how he and Otis could help him in his feud against Seth Rollins.

The American Alpha star shone in this match, but the right result was Balor just barely getting the win with a small package.

RK-Bro watched on as the Dirty Dawgs beat the Street Profits in a good bout, with Omos causing the distraction as Dolph Ziggler pinned Montez Ford.

After the bell, the giant took out Ford, Angelo Dawkins and Riddle, with Randy Orton nearly making the save but thinking better of it.

Damian Priest continued to show his aggressive side as he beat T-Bar in a fantastic non-title, No Disqualification Match.

This was definitely most like the latter’s Dijakovic days in NXT, and it resulted in a brilliantly competitive bout with the Archer of Infamy looking like a monster.

He has his next challenger for the United States Title set too as Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez came out to issue a warning to Priest.

*WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
