Britney Spears’ dad Jamie has requested for her conservatorship to be immediately terminated, it has been claimed.
The Toxic singer, 39, has been under the controversial conservatorship since 2008, with her father in charge of her financial, personal and legal matters.
She recently spoke out against the ruling in a damning hearing and urged a judge to have it removed completely.
According to reports, the mum-of-two may be one step closer to her goal as Jamie’s lawyer, Alex Weingarten, has filed documents to end the court order.
In new court documents, obtained by People Magazine and filed on November 1, his attorney said Jamie believes that ‘Britney’s recent testimony and requests to take personal control of her estate and affairs have made clear that continuing the conservatorship is contrary to her desires.
‘Jamie sees no reason why the conservatorship should continue for any amount of time and asserts he has no interest in the conservatorship continuing.’

Alex shared that Jamie’s request is ‘unconditional’, and is not issuing the order for any ‘compensation’.
‘Jamie unconditionally loves and supports his daughter. Full stop. As he has done for her entire life, Jamie will do everything he can to protect and care for her,’ the lawyer wrote. ‘For the last 13 years, that included serving as her conservator. Now, it means ending her conservatorship.’
There has been intense scrutiny over the court order recently, with questions raised about Britney’s freedom in recent documentaries.

In the New York Times Presents: Controlling Britney Spears, it was alleged that Jamie kept his daughter under ‘secret surveillance’, recording her in her bedroom and taping conversations with her two sons and fiancé Sam Asghari.
The documentary claims that text messages and other material from her phone were passed to her father while she was under the rule.
In the court filing, Alex also insisted that Jamie has ‘nothing to hide’ regarding his role, and believes that ‘every aspect’ of it should be made public.

‘Accordingly, Jamie affirms that he will unconditionally cooperate in transferring all files regarding the estate to Britney’s counsel without delay,’ the documents added.
A judge recently removed Jamie as her conservator in a milestone step towards having the rule removed entirely.
Britney’s next conservatorship hearing is due to take place on November 12, to decide whether the rule can be lifted for good.
