Dakota Johnson has shared her feelings about the allegations made against three of her former co-stars in a candid new interview.
The Hollywood star has worked with the likes of Johnny Depp, Shia LaBeouf, and Armie Hammer in recent years before they went on to face damning allegations of abuse.
The 32-year-old actress opened up in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter as she reacted to the claims made against them – which all three men have denied.
‘I never experienced that firsthand from any of those people,’ she told the publication. ‘I had an incredible time working with them; I feel sad for the loss of great artists. I feel sad for people needing help and perhaps not getting it in time. I feel sad for anyone who was harmed or hurt.’
The Fifty Shades of Grey actress first worked with Johnny Depp in 2015’s Black Mass, before working with Armie Hammer in 2019’s Wounds and Shia LaBeouf in 2019’s The Peanut Butter Falcon.
She continued: ‘I do believe that people can change. I want to believe in the power of a human being to change and evolve and get help and help other people.

‘I think there’s definitely a major overcorrection happening. But I do believe that there’s a way for the pendulum to find the middle.’
Dakota went on to add: ‘The way that studios have been run up until now, and still now, is behind. It is such an antiquated mindset of what movies should be made, who should be in them, how much people should get paid, what equality and diversity look like.

‘Sometimes the old school needs to be moved out for the new school to come in. But, yeah, cancel culture is such a f**king downer. I hate that term.’
Hammer, 35, recently checked into a rehab facility for ‘drug, alcohol, and sex issues’, following allegations of sexual assault which the actor vehemently denied.

Last year LaBeouf, 35, was sued for sexual battery by ex FKA twigs, who alleges she was abused ‘physically, emotionally and mentally’ by LaBeouf through their relationship; the Transformers actor has denied the allegations.
Depp, 58, is currently embroiled in an ongoing legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard, after losing a libel trial against The Sun’s publisher last year over an article that branded him a ‘wife-beater’.
