Dolly Parton posts rare photo of her very private husband Carl Dean on Twitter as fans think he looks ‘so handsome’

DOLLY Parton shared a never-before-seen photo of her husband Carl Dean as fans gushed over his “handsome” appearance and supportive nature.

The beloved singer has kept her marriage private for over 55 years as her hubby has preferred to remain out of the spotlight.

Dolly, 75, shared a rare photo alongside her husband Carl Dean from the early years of their relationship.

In the photo, the beaming songwriter wore a bright pink dress and yellow pants, topped with a matching belt and jewelry.

The actress held hands with her husband Carl, now 79, whose tee-shirt was photoshopped into his wife’s newest merchandise release.

Dolly captioned her photo shared on Twitter: “Find you a partner who will support you like my Carl Dean does!”

Fans raced to the comments to gush over how “handsome” her reclusive husband appeared in the image, as very few photos have been shared of the businessman over the years.

“He is one tall drink of water,” one wrote with a heart-eyes emoji.

“OK Ms. Dolly, Carl Dean is also a cutie,” a second shared.

A third remarked: “Dolly your carl is so handsome i can see why you fell for him,” while a fourth agreed: “They just don’t make them like that anymore!”

“Dang. He is as handsome as you are beautiful,” a final confessed.

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

Dolly met her husband on her very first day in Nashville when she was just 18 years old.

The pair met outside their local laundromat in 1964, and Carl was just 21 at the time.

“We actually met the first day I moved to Nashville,” Dolly previously told the TV talk show Home & Family.

“I was 18 years old, 1964. I had taken some dirty clothes in a rush to get to Nashville.

“I was down at the Wishy Washy laundromat. I had put my clothes in the laundry in this machine and I was all new in Nashville to stay,” she recalled.

“I was walking around on the street and this good looking guy drove by and he said something to me like ‘Hey, you gonna get sunburned out there,’ or something. I said ‘What’s it to you?’ or something like that.”

Dolly continued: “He pulled over and we started talking. I was actually babysitting at the time and so we talked. I told him where I was staying. I said ‘Well, you come by tomorrow and we’ll talk.’

“So he came by a couple of days, we sat out on the fire escape where I was babysitting the little boy and we had a first date.

“He took me home to his mama very first time.”

CARL’S CRUSH

Carl knew after first seeing Dolly that they were going to spend their life together.

“My first thought was I’m gonna marry that girl,” he said on Dolly’s official website.

“My second thought was, ‘Lord she’s good lookin.’ And that was the day my life began.”

The couple tied the knot two years later on May 30, 1966, in Ringgold, Georgia, shortly before Dolly released her first album.

MIND OF HER OWN

Although the 9 to 5 star had always wanted a big wedding, her record label did not approve of the arrangement, so her mother was the only guest in attendance.

Her music managers wanted her to wait at least a year before tying the knot as they had just invested in her career, but she could not be persuaded.

The couple went across the Tennessee state line and found a little Baptist church where they were married in a small ceremony.

“My mother made me a little white dress, a little bible with a little flowers,” said Dolly.

“Brother Don Duvall was the reverend then, he’s passed away now. We go back to Ringgold every year on our anniversary, as a rule.”

OPEN MARRIAGE

Dolly previously admitted that she and Carl have had an “open marriage” for years, though never in a sexual way.

She has claimed she’s never been intimate with anyone but her husband.

In Dolly on Dolly, Interviews, and Encounters with Dolly Parton, the country star explained: “Men are my weakness.

“Short, fat, bald or skinny, I’ve had crushes on some very unusual men but Carl knows I’ll always come home and I’m not having sex with these people, I’m just flirting and having fun.

“He’s not jealous and I’m not jealous of him. He knows I flirt. He flirts too.”

She continued: “Yes, it’s an open relationship, but not sexually and I would kill him if I thought he was doing that.

“He would shoot me too. At the end of the day, we love each other madly.”

Dolly was finally given the wedding of her dreams in 2016 when she and Carl celebrated their 50th anniversary with a vow renewal.

NEVER A MOTHER

Despite always wanting children, the duo was never able to have any.

However, she and her beau agreed that they weren’t meant for parenthood, as she once told fans: “Now that Carl and I are older, we often say, ‘Aren’t you glad we didn’t have kids?

“Now we don’t have kids to worry about.’”
