Richard Madeley has addressed claims he will be permanently joining Good Morning Britain as Piers Morgan’s replacement.
The 65-year-old has been one of many stars co-hosting the ITV series alongside Susanna Reid following Piers’ exit earlier this year.
It was reported that he has officially signed up to anchor GMB for good, in a deal thought to be worth £300,000.
According to the Sun, he will be taking up the permanent seat after his rumoured stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
Richard spoke of the reports on today’s instalment of the show, but remained coy on the details.
‘I think someone has put two and two together and got four and a half, or five,’ he replied when asked if it was true.

‘I am going to be doing the show down the line along with lots of other people. I’m part of the team.’
‘Can neither confirm nor deny,’ Susanna added.
His words come after an insider claimed that he has agreed to a deal after impressing bosses with his temporary stint on the panel.
‘Richard has always maintained he would never do GMB full-time, as he loves his life as it is,’ they said. ’But as the weeks have gone by, and he’s proven a constant hit with viewers, he’s really got into his stride and has been enjoying it more and more.

‘After a couple of meetings with ITV bosses, he was offered a full-time contract. And after consulting with his family, especially wife Judy, he decided “sod it” — and to go for it.’
Richard is still thought to be debating some details of his appearance, with expectations that he will follow Piers’ move of presenting three days a week.
It has also been claimed that the broadcaster will not make an official announcement for now, as they are still hoping to add another big name to the team.
The source added: ‘Officially they are still casting around for another potential full-time team member — hopefully another star name — so as to give the show a fresh new feel in 2022.’

Piers famously left his role in March after his controversial rant regarding Meghan Markle’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey sparked a record number of Ofcom complaints.
He refused to apologise for his comments, and later walked off live on air during a heated discussion with Alex Beresford, announcing his exit shortly after.
After months of teasing on his next steps, the journalist revealed in September that he will be moving to News UK’s new TV channel talkTV.
Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays at 6am on ITV.
