Great British Bake Off announced last night that it’s gearing up for a ‘free from’ week next Tuesday, and fans have been demanding that vegan baker Freya should return ever since.
Freya made history as the youngest contestant ever at the age of 19, but it looks like she’s missed out on the perfect set of challenges to suit to her baking after her early exit.
As announced at the end of last night’s episode, the next instalment will see participants tasked with making gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan dishes.
Freya was eliminated from the show during German week, and even at the time viewers thought she’d gone too soon.
Now, after the free from week was announced last night, fans have taken to social media to criticise her early exit and demand her return.
‘NOOOOOO NOT BAKE OFF DOING A FREE FROM WEEK AFTER FREYA HAS ALREADY LEFT,’ one very upset viewer wrote, adding: ‘That’s heartbreaking, she would have SMASHED it.’

‘If only freya was still in bake off for free from week,’ another posted.
‘Still doesn’t seem right that Freya has left Bake Off!!’
Viewers were left distraught earlier in the series when Freya lost her place in the competition, with judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith choosing to send her home over George – who served raw dough during week five.

The baker said after her exit: ‘Genuinely, I think it’s the best experience of my life… I do feel really proud just to keep up. To get to week [five] and being vegan, I’ve achieved what I set out to do.’

Meanwhile, Freya and fellow GBBO contestant Lizzie went the extra mile to show how much their time on the show meant to them, getting tribute tattoos after their critiques from judges Paul and Prue.
It comes after Caramel week on Tuesday saw contestants face their toughest challenge yet, and it ended in disaster for one baker who was eliminated.
The Great British Bake Off continues on Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
