The UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas will defend her strawweight gold against Chinese fighter Zhang Weili inside the cage. This much-awaited rematch will serve as a co-main event at UFC 268 that will take place inside the Madison Square Garden in New York on 7th November.
‘Thug Rose’ is one of the most dominant women’s fighters currently in the UFC. She has an amazing professional record of 11-4 under her name. Namajunas has two knockout wins and six submission wins under her name. However, even the dominant fighter has had few setbacks in her MMA career.

Namajunas has four setbacks in her career, one in the Invicta, one in the TUF season finale, and two in the UFC. So ahead of her much expected rematch, let’s take a look at the setbacks ‘Thug Rose’ faced in the UFC.
Rose Namajunas: Lost the Three-Fight Win Streak
‘Thug Rose’ made her stunning UFC debut with a first-round submission win against Angela Hill at UFC 192. She won her second UFC fight against one of the rising fighters, Paige Vanzant.
Namajunas won back-to-back fights after her debut. She was on an amazing three-fight win streak when she faced a fresh UFC prospect, Karolina Kowalkiewicz. The latter was on a two-fight win streak after her UFC debut.

It was a close battle between the top-ranked strawweights. However, after a three-round gruesome scrap, Kowalkiewicz came out victorious via unanimous decision, extending her two-fight undefeated streak. The fight won the ‘Fight Of The Night’ bonus. However, this fight ended Namajunas’s three-fight win run.
First UFC title loss
After her first UFC setback, ‘Thug Rose’ was quick to find her way back to the win column. After one win, Namajunas faced the UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the title.
Surprisingly, the underdog Namajunas defeated the champion in the very first round of the bout and also defended it in the rematch. However, she faced a different fate in her second title defense. ‘Thug Rose’ faced Jessica Andrade at UFC 237.
The two showed absolute skill inside the cage. Namajunas dominated the first round with her strikes. However, ‘Bate Estaca’ retaliated and performed her signature slam, but Namajunas landed safely.

During the second round, ‘Thug Rose’ started early. However, she was almost out of gas. Andrade saw an opportunity and performed her signature slam again. This time, Namajunas landed on her neck and the referee called off the fight, naming Andrade the new UFC champion.
However, later, Namajunas avenged her loss by defeating Andrade in a rematch. She regained her title by defeating Zhang Weili at UFC 261. She is now preparing for her title defense and UFC fans are excited to see her battle inside the cage again.
