Huge WhatsApp leak reveals ‘unsending texts’ is about to change forever
WHATSAPP may soon remove the time limit for unsending texts.
It means you’d be able to hit “Delete For Everyone” on any message you’ve sent.

Currently, it’s only possible to unsend a message if it’s less than an hour old.
The feature was originally added in 2018, giving people more power to prevent erroneous messages from being read.
Originally the limit was set to around seven minutes – but has since expanded.
But one hour isn’t always enough – and you might want to erase something older.
Thankfully the highly reputable WhatsApp sleuths at WABetaInfo have revealed “Delete For Everyone” is being expanded.
“WhatsApp is working on a new version of ‘Delete For Everyone’, extending the limit to a new undefined time in a future update,” the app explained.

An examination of the feature revealed it was able to delete a message sent three months ago.
This would be a huge change to the app.
“The new feature allows deleting any message for everyone without considering when it has been sent,” WABetaInfo explained.
Of course, this is currently still just a test feature, and doesn’t guarantee it will ever make it to the live version of Meta-owned WhatsApp.
And even if it is approved, it could still change – perhaps with a longer time limit.
Sometimes new WhatsApp features take many months to arrive for users too.
It’s impossible to say exactly when (or if) we’ll see it on WhatsApp.
“What we can confirm is that you can delete a message for everyone without time limits at the current state of development,” WABetaInfo said.
The good news is that The Sun recently revealed a TikTok hack for WhatsApp that lets you unsend very old messages.
Trials of the trick allowed the deletion of messages dating back several months.
But it’s a convoluted method that involves changing the time and date on your iPhone.
WhatsApp’s new test feature would be a far simpler method – if it ever rolls out.
