Nick Faldo Snubs Tiger Woods From His ‘Perfect Player’ List

There have been tons of amazing golfers that have established their name in the sporting world. However, some are popular not for their dominance, but for their amazing skill set. And while choosing the best of those is a subjective choice and may vary, one would assume that Tiger Woods will make it to the list.

Sir Nick Faldo recently revealed his ideal top players. His list of constructing the ‘perfect player’ includes one attribute in each category of driving, iron play, short game, and putting. In fact, missing on the list is not only Woods but also Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead, Gary Player, and for many, Mickelson!

Who all star in Faldo’s list which omits Tiger Woods?

In a tweet, GOLFTV revealed Sir Nick Faldo’s players. And interestingly, all names on the list are veteran players. The star-studded list contains the likes of Greg Norman, Tom Weiskopf, Billy Casper and Seve Ballesteros.

Greg Norman bags the spot for the best driver. While his longest drive has come in at 315 yards, he had a driving accuracy of 42.86%. He definitely can hit it better than most out there. Meanwhile, the Australian recently made headlines owing to his becoming the CEO of LIV Golf Investments, a venture to challenge the PGA Tour.

Under the category of best short game, American Billy Casper takes it home. The 51-time PGA Tour winner was clever and strategic on the course, relying on technique and concentration that led to his dominance. Recently, Billy Casper Golf (his venture) became one of the largest privately owned golf course management companies in the United States, with around 150 courses to their credit.

Seve Ballesteros was Faldo’s pick for the best putting. One of the greatest golfers to ever emerge from the European continent, he won 50 titles on the European Tour. He had a great one-putt percentage of 33.33%. Further, Tom Weiskopf makes the list for his iron play. He was highly respected for his swing and power on the course.

However, looking at these names, it’s not difficult to think that Woods would have given a tough fight for all spots. Fans, too, weren’t entirely convinced by dropping Woods’ name.

Imagine building the “perfect player” and literally not including the greatest of all time in a single thing. The disrespect. pic.twitter.com/J8FJeD3CKx
