November’s best beauty launches revealed – including the perfect Christmas gifts from Gucci, Glossier and Babyliss

Now Halloween is done and the clocks have gone back, we can start thinking about the C word, right?

For me, Christmas starts right after my birthday in September, but my flatmate regularly reminds me that’s not the case for everyone. When it comes to this month’s best beauty launches, however, Christmas is definitely in the air.

So even if you’re not in the festive spirit, get ahead of the game and start stocking up on gifts. Imagine how good it will feel when you’ve finished your shopping before December’s even begun!

Gucci Beauty Holiday 2021 Rouge à Lèvres Mat, £35 – buy here

It doesn’t get more festive than Gucci Beauty Holiday 2021 Rouge à Lèvres Mat, £35. The special-edition packaging is nothing short of magical, and the creamy matte formula delivers intense colour without the dry lip feeling.

My favourite shade is pinky-nude Valeria Rose, but you can’t go wrong with Goldie Red, a signature pillar box hue.

Glossier Monochromes, £19 – buy here

Sticking with make-up, Glossier Monochromes , £19, contains everything you or your loved one needs for a day-to-night eye, with the same shade in three finishes that are all buildable so you can vary the intensity.

If that wasn’t enough, the packaging is also refillable and recyclable. I vowed I’d only keep one of the 10 trios I was sent to test, but I can’t quite let go of shades Mesa, Teak or Rosin…

Babyliss Cordless Hot Brush, £180 – buy here

If you’re looking for a big-ticket item, I’m head over heels for the Babyliss Cordless Hot Brush, £180. I’ve never mastered the art of an at-home blow-dry, but this clever tool gives results without tired arms or tangled cords.

The charge lasts for 40 minutes at the highest heat setting (200°C), but I use the lowest (160°C) so I manage to do my full head a few times before having to recharge. Plus, my hair has a hard time holding on to volume, so I love that I can throw the brush in my tote and touch up before leaving the office.

L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renew Midnight Serum, £29.99 – buy here

For skincare enthusiasts, L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renew Midnight Serum, £29.99, is super-impressive. Packed with antioxidants, vitamin E and hyaluronic acid to rehydrate, nourish and reduce signs of premature ageing, the lightweight serum sinks in almost instantly and doesn’t leave any sticky residue behind.

While nothing will ever replace my beloved Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, this is a great alternative at a fraction of the price. What’s more, a huge 96% of women thought their skin looked better after four weeks of use. Sign me up!

THE BEAUTY PANEL

How can I cover my spots without using a heavy base and it looking cakey? Sophie, Stoke-on-Trent

The important thing is finding an appropriate concealer. A medicated one can help reduce the breakout, but if you want to use the same one all over your face, I recommend Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer, £30, or Vichy Dermablend SOS Cover Concealer Stick, £15. Dot it on to the blemish, pat it in and blend out. For redness, use a green colour corrector like Indeed Labs Nanoblur Colour Corrector in Green, £16.99, before your concealer.
