BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker was absent from today’s show in a line-up shake-up.
The 44-year-old Strictly Come Dancing contestant usually hosts the programme Mondays through until Wednesdays with his new permanent co-star Sally Nugent, with Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty taking the reins for the rest of the week.
Wednesday’s programme was different though, with Charlie sitting alongside Sally to discuss the latest headlines, including missing four-year-old Cleo Smith being found.
Viewers didn’t appear to mind the overhaul though, with one writing: ‘How uplifting to see Sally with Charlie this morning as I get up blearily with my coffee
Dan has yet to address his absence from BBC Breakfast, but on Tuesday night revealed on social media that he had been up at Manchester’s Old Trafford filming Brilliant day filming with his Strictly partner Nadiya Bychkova.
‘She [Nadiya] has never been there before and was a little excited to get inside the dressing room,’ he penned alongside a series of photographs of them stood on the grounds.

‘You’ll be able to see it this Saturday on the show.’
On Monday’s episode of BBC Breakfast, Dan explained why he opted to dress as a lobster for Halloween week on Strictly after much confusion.
He and Nadiya donned bright red costumes for their jive to The B-52’s Rock Lobster and were awarded 27 points from the judges as well as a place in next week’s show.
Sitting beside Sally, Dan revealed: ‘We don’t celebrate Halloween in our house and I’ve got to say a huge thank you to Strictly because they enabled me to be a part of that programme without doing Halloween.’

He continued: ‘I couldn’t go on that programme and be a disingenuous dad.
‘Anybody who’s got children talk to their children about they can and can’t do and why they do things a certain way.’

Dan and Nadiya will perform their couple’s choice to Classic by MKTO on Saturday, which will mark the halfway point of the current series.
